Astbury Conversation 2016

This public event - attended by more than 200 participants - was held in the Parkinson Court of Leeds University and featured a number of interactive, 'hands-on' activities and demonstrations from the Astbury Centre's disciplines of Chemistry, Physics and Biological Sciences. The nuclear magnetic resonance team of the Astbury Biostructure laboratory, including Gary Thompson, Hugh Smith, Sam Dawes, Lukasz Wieteska, and Lars Kuhn, put on a range of activities illustrating the power and versatility of nuclear magnetic resonance. On display were, among other things, an NMR probe, NMR resonance signal assignment games and, above all, a self-made low-field NMR spectrometer.
