... understanding life in molecular detail

International programmes

The Astbury Centre is an interdisciplinary research centre that brings together around 250 researchers from across the University to understand the molecular basis of life.

There are many opportunities to apply for funding to work within the Astbury Centre. There are Marie Curie fellowship schemes for researchers coming from elsewhere within the European Union, and from outside the European Union. In addition, many countries have schemes that could fund research fellowships within the Centre. If you are interested in applying for a fellowship to work within an established research group, please contact the appropriate group leader within the centre.

There are limited funding opportunities for students to undertake a PhD within the Astbury Centre. The Wellcome Trust-funded 4-year PhD programme, and some University scholarships, are open to international students, but competition for these schemes is fierce! Many countries have schemes that could fund PhD studentships within the Centre.
